Department of Biology Holds a Workshop on the Impact of Human Activities on Rising Temperatures in the Modern Era

The Department of biology at the College of Education for Pure Sciences/University of Karbala held a workshop entitled (The Impact of Human Activities on High Temperatures in the Modern Era), delivered by Dr. Talib Hashem Matlab. The workshop aimed to shed light on the pace of temperature rise at the present time, faster than any period in the past. The global warming phenomenon and its significant impact on raising temperatures around the world and the most important gaseous emissions that cause it were discussed. Reference was made to the most important human activities that contribute to the increase and exacerbation of global warming and the countries that contribute significantly through their industrial activities to raising the levels of polluting gases in the atmosphere.
The negative effects of rising temperatures on the ecosystem and the potential future risks of the continuation of this rise were also discussed. At the end of the discussion, the most important international endeavors to reduce global warming, reduce gas emissions, and constantly urge the use of clean energy means and reduce the production and use of fossil fuels were mentioned. In conclusion, an extensive discussion took place between the speaker and the audience and an exchange of views and ideas took place, during which questions related to the topic were answered.
