Master Thesis Discussing (the Effect of Aqueous Extract of Taraxacum Officinale on Some Physiological and Histological Parameters of Male Rabbits)

Discussion of a Master’s Thesis

 Department of biology, College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Karbala, discussed the Master’s thesis tagged (the effect of aqueous extract of Taraxacum officinale on some physiological and histological parameters of male rabbits bred by monosodium glutamate), the student (Israa Hussein Abd Ali), and under the supervision of Prof. Rasha Abdel Amir Jawad.
The current study aimed to know the protective role of the aqueous extract of dandelion leaves at two different doses (250-500) g/kg for the study groups on some functional parameters and on the liver tissue of white male rabbits treated with monosodium glutamate and for the purpose of arriving at a plant treatment for liver diseases and restoring the activity of hepatocytes;
The study showed that a decrease in the average level of cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoproteins and an increase in the level of good cholesterol made it possible to benefit from it in the treatment of diseases related to high levels of fat, obesity and cases of anemia, and that a decrease in the rate of liver enzymes and the preservation of liver cells from Damage as it has healing properties specific to the treatment of diseases related to the liver. And the extract of the dandelion plant works to treat high blood sugar, which gives it the ability to treat diabetics. For her part, the researcher recommended conducting intensive studies on the effect of the aqueous extract of dandelion leaves on diabetic and obese patients, the possibility of benefiting from the role of dandelion in reducing blood lipid levels in the pharmaceutical industries as a herbal compound instead of chemical compounds, conducting a histological study of the alcoholic and aqueous extract of dandelion leaves On the placental fetuses, raising awareness and health education about the importance of herbal medicine in order to reduce the side effects resulting from chemical pharmacological treatments, as well as paying attention not to eat some foods containing MSG, especially by children, in order to preserve their health and safety of their growth and prevent collateral damage from taking them. . The student received an honors grade.
