A research team at the University of Karbala was able to prepare highly branched organic polymers containing melamine derivatives and prove their effectiveness in inhibiting the growth of ovarian cancer cells. The team was able to prepare five new polymers from melamine derivatives and study their effectiveness in inhibiting the growth of ovarian cancer cells
Where the ability of the new polymers to kill and inhibit the growth of ovarian cancer cells of the type SKOV-3 cells was confirmed by measuring cytotoxicity, where an MTT assay was performed, by treating the above-mentioned cancer cells with the new compounds prepared at specific concentrations for three days. Streak.
The prepared new polymers showed fatal efficacy to cancer cells by inhibiting the growth and proliferation of cancer cells when compared to cancer cells not treated with the same compounds. The mechanism used by the new compounds to kill cancer cells was also investigated by treating the cells with the new compounds with the acridine orange / ethidim bromide dye.
This invention is considered one of the important discoveries in the science of combating cancer diseases, as the prepared polymers are a qualitative breakthrough in cancer-fighting drugs, which will pave the way for other discoveries, God willing.
